In Greek mythology Medusa was a monster, a Gorgon, generally described as having the face of a hideous human female with living venomous snakes in place of hair. Gazing directly into her eyes would turn onlookers to stone. Most sources describe her as the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto, though the author Hyginus interposes a generation and gives Medusa another chthonic pair as parents.
In the game
In Bart's second game, she was seen in a room where she was standing in a square, when Bart picked the glasses that prevent him to turn into stone. After stepping in the square, Medusa went after him and he led her to the room where was the Scorpion King and was turned into stone. And when she went back after Bart, she looked herself in the mirror that Bart put it there, and she turned into stone.
